[Albuquerque, NM] — LATA is pleased to announce the promotion of Cory Tackett to Assistant Vice President (AVP) of the Department of War (DOW) Programs. Cory has been a dedicated member of the LATA team for approximately 13 years, consistently contributing to the company’s growth and success across federal and commercial markets.
In his new role, Cory will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for LATA’s Department of War Programs, guiding complex, mission-driven initiatives.
Cory brings a strong technical foundation to his leadership, holding degrees in Systems Engineering and Chemistry. He combines scientific expertise with systems-level thinking to deliver strategic, technically sound solutions in highly regulated environments. His experience spans environmental investigations and remediation projects, where he has led multidisciplinary teams, overseen large-scale project execution, and supported successful project and proposal development efforts.
In addition to his project leadership, Cory has played a key role in managing LATA’s chemistry and environmental data validation programs. His work supports federal and commercial projects requiring rigorous adherence to DOE, DOW, EPA, and other applicable regulatory guidance and quality standards. These programs involve comprehensive review and validation of laboratory data packages, including detailed evaluation of quality control metrics, calibration performance, and raw analytical data to ensure results are accurate, defensible, and suitable for regulatory decision-making.
During his tenure at LATA, Cory has served as Project Manager for groundwater and environmental systems operations and maintenance (O&M) on several of the company’s major DOW and commercial programs. His leadership in these efforts has been instrumental in ensuring reliable system performance, regulatory compliance, and long-term project success.
“Cory’s promotion reflects his deep technical knowledge, proven leadership, and commitment to delivering results for our clients,” said Robin Beard, President & CEO. “He has earned the trust of both our team and our clients, and we are confident in his ability to lead this critical department into the future.”
Throughout his career at LATA, Cory has exemplified the company’s core values of safety, service, and relationships. His ability to navigate complex challenges while maintaining a strong focus on mission outcomes positions him well for this expanded leadership role.
“I am honored to step into this position and continue supporting LATA’s mission,” said Cory. “I look forward to working with our talented team to advance our programs and deliver innovative solutions to our clients.”
LATA remains committed to developing leaders from within and strengthening its position as a trusted partner for environmental and engineering solutions.
