ALBQUERQUE, NM: June 5, 2019 – Los Alamos Technical Associates Inc. (LATA) is pleased to announce the award of a five-year Professional Services Network and Communications Contract with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). LATA has been providing similar services for WMATA since 2013. In addition to program management, LATA will provide advanced telecommunications, IT integration, system engineering design and cybersecurity professionals to support the Metro network.
The Metro network includes six lines, 91 stations, and 117 miles of route across the District of Columbia and select counties in Maryland and Virginia. The system is the third-busiest rapid transit system in the United States in number of passenger trips, after the New York City Subway and Chicago “L”.
