LATA Awarded Contract to Remediate the Former Site of a Gas Station in Bexley, OH

The Ohio Development Services Agency granted $500,000 to the City of Bexley to clean up an abandoned gas station, the largest of eight grants awarded. LATA worked with the City during the application phase of the grant by providing the design and cost estimate for the remediation effort. Following receipt of the funding, the city awarded a subcontract to LATA to perform the remediation effort through a qualification-based award process. LATA’s remediation scope of work includes excavation of petroleum-contaminated soils, the addition of an oxygen release compound at the former gas station and in-site remediation of an adjacent residential property. The grant allowed the work to be completed over two years, however LATA expects to complete the cleanup in June 2017, significantly ahead of schedule.
