JD Sohl, PE, PMP
JD Sohl joined LATA in 2013 to deliver leadership and strategic vision in LATA’s deactivation, nuclear operations, and project management segments. JD has nearly 30 years’ experience leading large and complex engineering, start-up, operational, and deactivation projects, in both the DOE and NRC regulatory environment.
JD has a consistent track record of turning around at-risk organizations through his hands-on approach to building strong, high performing teams. In his most recent role, he served as the LSRS Paducah Site Manager for the deactivation of the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant. Prior to joining LATA, JD was Vice President – Engineering for Energy Solutions, Global Commercial Group; Chief Engineer for Uranium Disposition Services in the commissioning and startup of two new plants; and led Engineering and Nuclear Safety organizations at the United States Enrichment Corporation and Lockheed Martin Utility Services.
JD graduated from the University of Missouri with a M.S. in Nuclear Engineering and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. In addition, JD earned an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a registered Professional Engineer (nuclear) and a certified Project Management Professional.
On a personal note, JD is a veteran and served in the U.S. Navy as a submarine line officer. JD is married to Alice Sohl, and they raised two daughters, Katy and Alex, and a niece, Anna.
