Remedial Action

Remedial Action

As a project management company, LATA has undertaken some of the largest and highest hazard remedial action projects of any small business. Our experience portfolio includes successfully managing the south side of the Rocky Flats Plant under Kaiser-Hill, providing over $30 million/year in nuclear, D&D, and waste management services. We have extensive commercial experience in both simple and complex remediation for such clients as Los Alamos National Laboratory, the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, and ATOFINA Petrochemicals. Over the past decade, LATA has performed an average of $20 million per year in remedial action work.

LATA has developed solutions for groundwater and vadose zone contamination at a number of DOE and commercial sites, successfully employed ‘surgical excavation’ techniques to remove soil contamination source terms, provided solutions to eliminate years of anticipated post-closure site monitoring, and assisted clients through regulatory negotiation and approval. We have designed and operated groundwater extraction systems ranging from less than 50 gpm to systems in excess of 2000 gpm.

LATA offers a full suite of environmental remediation services including soil and groundwater remediation system design / build / operation, contaminant excavation and disposal, and in-situ treatment. We are experienced in the successful execution of both proven and innovative remedial action techniques including free-product recovery, ion exchange, air sparging / air injection, phytoremediation, hexavalent chrome reduction, soil stabilization, air stripping, centrifuge separation, radiological and chemical decontamination, bioremediation, catalytic oxidation, monitored natural attenuation, vacuum enhanced recovery, and soil vapor extraction.

We provide full service remedial action support from planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and permit and license acquisition through hands-on, in-the-field remediation execution to remote site operations via telemetry, 24-hour monitoring, emergency equipment repair/replacement, system optimization and retrofit, system efficiency analysis, data management and reporting, and regulatory agency / client reporting.
