Long-Term Site Management

LATA provides its clients with experienced and cost-effective resources to achieve long-term site management protection for human health and the environment. We effectively reduce or eliminate our clients’ long-term environmental liability, financial exposure, and potential for regulatory non-compliance.

We have designed, built, operated, and maintained active remediation systems; instrumentation and control systems for samplers, sensors, data logging devices; and disposal cells; leachate collection systems; and other geotechnical features to support our clients’ long-term obligations. Our technical and managerial competence encompasses the full range of site management technologies including ramping down of surveillance and maintenance through negotiating automation and intersite coordination, installing and operating soil vapor extraction, sparging, and groundwater pump and treat systems, and employing phytoremediation, permeable reactive barriers, monitored natural attenuation, chemical injections, landfill capping, leachate treatment and numerous other long-term remedies.

We have successfully managed sites under diverse regulatory frameworks nationwide including state, regional, and local regulatory agencies and stakeholders. We have successfully negotiated with regulators for the acceptance of risk-based and innovative approaches to meeting project requirements.

We maintain in-depth expertise in remote system operation and system optimization. We operate multiple, geographically dispersed long-term site management systems remotely from our Columbus, Ohio office which houses our instrumentation and controls department and staffed by professionals experienced in site operations support. From this location, operating system parameters are automatically and continuously logged by computer. The data is used to support continued process improvement of ongoing operations. Our centrally located remote Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems staff enables clients to take advantage of the efficiencies gained through applying lessons learned from other ongoing operations, through the benchmarking of differing site operations, through reducing the number of personnel needed to monitor operations, and through a continuing assessment of operational efficiency and costs against current technology to identify further optimization opportunities.
